HarperLove

Creating a new brand for modern romance

HarperCollins wanted to create a new home for contemporary romance in the Nordic market. A brand that could build on the publisher’s long heritage in love stories, while introducing a new generation of readers to a broader, smarter and more contemporary take on the genre.

The result was HarperLove – a new imprint dedicated to modern, passionate and intelligent romance, bringing together established and emerging authors, Swedish and international voices, and stories spanning everything from contemporary relationships to historical romance.

Client: HarperCollins

Deliverables: Brand strategy, visual identity, symbol design, book cover system, social media guidelines, brand guidelines.

Building a brand from scratch

We developed HarperLove as an entirely new brand, creating a visual identity that captures the emotional world of modern romance without relying on the traditional clichés of the genre.

Love and flowers became central elements of the visual language. Together with the distinctive heart-shaped H logo and a palette of soft pastels, they created a playful yet contrasting expression – romantic, contemporary and unmistakably HarperLove.

The flexible identity was developed across book covers, social media and communication guidelines, creating a cohesive platform for different authors, stories and expressions.
